Proving crime doesn't pay, Viola Dana perform their unique live soundtrack to silent film classics from Buster Keaton at the Fremantle Prison!

After wowing audiences at the 2013 Toronto Silent Film Festival, Viola Dana are back on the case with brand new scores to Buster's hilarious short films for the young and old - Sherlock Jnr and The High Sign.

Viola Dana creates and performs exciting, new soundtracks for silent films. The result is a dynamic and unique hybrid arts experience, illuminating masterworks of the silent film era for a contemporary audience. Viola Dana’s sound can best be described as a mixture of folk, jazz and contemporary classical music rendered in warm, rich sonic hues of cello, guitar, banjo (on occasion), drums, tuned percussion and, of course, viola.

UPDATE - as this an outdoor picnic event, please bring suitable blankets or low-back setting for your comfort. As this event will sell out, please try to arrive early for to secure a good position. The Convict Cafe will be open for Busted! so feel free to make a night of it! See you then!
