When Sticky Fingers are in town, a little bit of a ruckus is never too far behind. We knew that. You knew that. Everyone knew that. So having heard all about their European tour (they were robbed, there were near miss physical altercations with locals and actual physical altercations with a promoter) we knew the misfits from Western Sydney would provide us with an interesting story or two. We also knew that they'd also bring along a bit of controversy. We all know how that turned out. But, more importantly, they also brought a seriously good show. A massive sold-out event at The Bakery and the now (in)famous slot at Rottofest started off their national tour - a tour that they've since managed to sell out at every venue they've been to. It was this ability to put on such a show (and maybe because we're a bit crazy and like to think we live on the edge too) that convinced us to invite them back again, this time for a headlining New Years Show.... like they need any extra motivation to bring the party. Supporting will be Stillwater Giants, fresh off the back of a special showcase at CMJ Music Marathon in New York. The electric surfie indie-rock group from Margs have had a massive year, recently releasing new single 'Insane' off their forthcoming album and spending the year playing shows around the country with acts such as The Delta Riggs, Glass Towers, Birds of Tokyo and British India. At 24 Lyall Moloney is a musical shapeshifter with a backlog of genre busting projects that belies his age. The constant here is his musical diversity: he plays in a field bounded by hip hop, dub and folk. Lyall plays all instruments and beatboxes on his recordings re-creates this live using loops. He's gigged with Swamp Thing (NZ), Tijuarna Cartel, Sticky Fingers and Rogerthat, all in all 200 plus shows over the last 18 months, including an East Coast tour and Newtown Festival. Throw into the mix icons of the Perth club scene and Capitol staples the Death Disco DJs and Micah to bring you the indie pop and dance tunes you want to hear and you have yourself the perfect way to bring in the new year.
