For a fantastic Aussie bush experience, visit the historic town of Wollombi in the lower Hunter Valley, only 90 minutes north of Sydney and 60 minutes south west of Newcastle on Friday 31st October for the inaugural Boots ‘n’ Ballgowns dinner dance!!

Enjoy the historical roots of this town and be immersed in country hospitality as this rural retreat comes alive with our bush heritage. Traditional dances will be called by none other than the icons of traditional Aussie bush music, the legendary Bushwackers who are guaranteed to get the whole place jumping!

The Bushwackers will be playing all the great Australian songs that have made them a household name around Australia for the last 43 years and are very well known for their bushdances which they pioneered in the 70's and 80's and still continue today. "We are delighted to be performing at The Wollombi Boots 'n' Ballgowns event on the 31st of October. We love playing for people bush dancing" says guitarist Roger Corbett. "The whole community gets together and has a great night."

In true bushie style, dinner will be a 2-course spit roast affair featuring beef from the bullock spit, lamb on the spit and all the trimmings, plus good old fashioned country home-made desserts, tea and coffee. A well stocked bar will be in order selling beer, wine, sparkling and spirits (please note that this is an over 18’s event only and ID will be required). Bar tickets can be purchased both online in books of 10 tickets, and on the night individually. Pre-purchase your bar tickets and save the hassle! They cost $2.50 each, and buy you:
1 bar ticket - Glass of Soft drink or Mineral Water;
2 bar tickets - Glass of Beer, Wine or Sparkling Wine;
3 bar tickets - Glass of Spirit with Mixer or Ice;
8 bar tickets - Bottle of Wine.

The dress code?  Boots and Ballgowns of course!!!

ACCOMMODATION

If you're planing to make a weekend out of it, there's free unpowered camp sites at Wollomb Tavern (with toilets but no shower facilities) and a range of Wollombi accommodation, from luxury guesthouses to bush retreats.

TRANSPORT

Book the mini-bus so you don't have to worry about driving. Only $10 per person for a return transfer within 10kms of Wollombi village. The bus will pick you up before Boots 'n' Ballgowns, and return you home safely at the end of the night. Transfers can be booked online with your tickets and at the Wollombi General Store and Great Northern Trading Post in Laguna.
