Genesis is doing their bit for the Australian Environment presenting “FRACKED – Dance to Save the Forest at Voodoo!”

Opposed to an Ice Bucket Challenge, the Genesis Team has come together with help from the Sydney Dance Community to rally behind a different cause that’s environmentally closer to home! The Pilliga Forest in Central NSW is home to over a dozen native endangered species that need our help protecting their home!

There are plans to build 850 gas wells, causing the destruction of an area similar to approximately 5,000 football fields of native Australian bush land in the Pilliga forest. To increase the resource collection rate, these gas wells use a process called ‘Hydraulic Fracturing’ which pumps toxic chemicals into the ground, poisoning the native ecosystem and destroying the homes of endangered species!
