Brisbane’s The Halls are all of a 'fizz' to announce the release of their single, Lemonade, and invite you to The New Globe Theatre on Saturday, 11 June for the party.
The Halls’ debut single Lemonade casts a playful yet critical eye upon Australian environmental issues and first world consumerism. Recorded by Konstantin Kersting (The Belligerents, Kingswood) at Brisbane’s Airlock Studios, the track’s dark, nostalgic pop drives relentlessly throughout, finally exploding into a searing yet hopeful reprise.
A band of contrasts, The Halls are difficult to pigeonhole. Described by one blogger as 'shiver pop', they flit from intricate and delicate, to sparse and epic, to grungy and trashy - sometimes within the same song. Comparisons have been made to The Pixies, Siouxsie & the Banshees, The Jezabels and The Cure.
Joining them at The New Globe Theatre will be psych-folk-rock collective Golden Age Of Ballooning, Sydney’s indie-pop darlings Bad Pony, and theatrical pop-rock outfit LULU AND THE CUTTHROATS.
