Event Description

A boutique event focusing on bringing the region and the venues amazing natural Amphitheatre to life.

In the late 90’s when the Basin Concert was winding down, some emerging bands were starting to make an indelible mark on the Australian and global music landscape. In 2015 Jebediah celebrated 20 years with a tour around the country and they will join the Basin Concert line up sharing an amazing catalogue of songs that have become part of the soundtrack of Australian alternative rock. Continuing the Roots flavor from last years Basin Concert The Beautiful Girls bring their unique roots, surf, blues sound that is the perfect fit for a sunny day in the beautiful Cataract Gorge. Five studio albums and three extended plays later, The Beautiful Girls have a long list of songs that we know and love and we couldn’t be more excited to have them joining us this year. Australian rock has constantly evolved and across the years a handful of bands of defined the sound generation to generation. Grinspoon are one of those bands that had an integral role in the development of the genre and front man Phil Jamieson will bring his unique acoustic take on many of the Grinspoon back catalogue we all grew up with. Local music is alive and well and next years Basin Concert brings even more to the stage once again reminding us of the ever-growing pool of amazing talent we are surrounded by. Local artists will include The Embers along with Zac Slater who’s family have a deep connection to the Basin Concert. Zac grew up running rampant through the crowd listening to his Mum, Dad, Aunty and Uncle who all made regular appearances on the Basin Concert line ups of the past. It is great to have the families next generation a part of The Basin Concert for 2016. The Embers and Zac Slater will also be joined by locals Akouo, Randall Foxx, NeoBi, Roger Davis, Gypsy as well as renowned Sydney producer Goodwill topping off the stage as well as a cool musical hideaway by the pools edge.
