Event Description
Chocolate Strings

A super food for every part of you goes by the name of Chocolate Strings.

Grown in the boroughs of Brisbane, time has most definitely seasoned this crop into
an out-and-out sensory feast. As a motley orchestra of 8 they possess the pulse of afro beat with a score built on soul, funk and ragga-fied melodies. Made by music lovers for music lovers.

Often referred to as ‘The Strings’, the coconut-flavoured harmonies sung by Ofa Fanaika, Nikki McWalters & Nia Falekakala are merely the beginnings of their renowned cook up. Guitarist and singer, Alex Skinner, serve sharp and tasty witty ditties. However there is no doubt that the sheer number of the group is their defining flavour.

Everything played by this delicious octet is bass-laced by bassist-McKelliget, brass-tastically bolder due to Josh Appleby’s sax and relentlessly booming with the
Bam Bam Boys signature hits.

They’re a meal you should notskip. If you’ve been blessed - you’ve seen, heard and felttheir offerings before. Always the festival sweethearts, The Strings have dished theircocoa chords on the line ups of Woodford Folk Festival, Karratha’s Red Earth Arts Festival,Peats Ridge, The Dreaming, Island Vibe, Kuranda Roots, Rainbow Serpent Festival,Newtown Festival and Luminate, New Zealand, and many more. It’s clear they’re never toofar from a celebration and since hunger never dies, the party goes on...December 2013 willsee not one but two new tunes fresh out of the Strings’ oven.

With an album not far from being served as well. Chocolate Strings look prepped to cater to the masses.

So to all of you who hunger for more out of good things. Whoever you are, wherever you are, whatever you’re doing- rethink your upcomingplans. Add Chocolate Strings into your diet and it’ll be the first time your body, mind and soul will thank you.
