Festivale, Northern Tasmania’s premier food and beverage festival is preparing for the arrival of thousands of wine, beer, cider, gin and whiskey lovers, foodies and families, who will flock to Launceston’s City Park from 2 to the 4 February 2018 to indulge in the states finest food and beverage festival.
Festivale will host over 80 exhibitions from local food, wine, beer, cider, gin and whisky artisans for visitors to indulge in at the 31th staging of the event.
Festivale Chairman, David Dunn says “The gates to Launcestons iconic City Park will open on Friday 2 February to Festivale 2018. With a record number of food, wine, beer, cider, whisky, gin and vodka producers, there will be something for everyone. Our entertainment program has been designed to showcase the wonderful local and national talent we have as well as international buskers to keep everyone entertained throughout the day and night.”
We are very excited to welcome Karen Martini as our Guest Chef for 2018 and Karen will also host the annual Festivale Lunch at Stillwater Restaurant.
Further developments to our Festivale app will allow patrons to seek out both their old and new favourite stallholders and sample the very best Tasmanian produce and beverages.
This year’s Tamar Valley Wine Route Master Class program is sure to please wine, gin, whisky and beer lovers. Indulge in chocolate and wine, beer and cheese, the best of the best from the 2018 Festivale Wine Awards. Get up close and personal with some of Tasmanian’s well known makers, brewers and wine experts; Luke Whittle, Senior Winemaker, Pipers Brook Vineyard, Stewart Byrne, Winemaker, Josef Chromy Wines, Shane Holloway, Owner and Winemaker, Delamere Vineyard, Karina Dambergs“title to come”
Sommelier James Welsh, James Boag Head Brewer Nathan Calman and Julian Allport Wine Maker, Moores Hill Vineyard to name a few.
Karen Martini, award-winning chef, restaurateur, author and television presenter, will collaborate with Stillwater Executive Chef, Craig Will on the design of the menu, accompanied by wines from Goaty Hill Vineyard for the Festivale Lunch to be held at Stillwater on Friday 2nd February. This is a lunch not to be missed.
Using the best of Tasmanian produce, sponsor the Tasmanian Food Co will host cooking demonstrations from acclaimed local and interstate chefs in the park on both Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th February. The chefs will share their culinary secrets and experiences with audiences while demonstrating their skills in the kitchen. This will include a demonstration from guest chef Karen Martini, restaurateur, author and television presenter on Sunday the 4th February. FREE children’s entertainment in Bellamy’s Organic Kids Kingdom hosted by Kid I AM. Kids will love to get involved in the all-day activities and workshops for children aged 3-12 years.
Festivale’s outdoor entertainment will feature a non-stop local and interstate entertainment line-up from the KPMG and VJAM stages in the park throughout the weekend. Due to popular demand Fresh Comedy returns on Friday night for a two hour line up both local and national comedians of nonstop laughs on the KPMG stage.
Family favourites, like roving performers and Ninth Island International Street Theatre return along with Tony Rooke’s Tiny Top to present non-stop entertainment.
Entry tickets include access to live music on two stages, live cooking demonstrations, international street performers and all kids’ activities in Bellamy’s Organic Kids Kingdom..
