Indulge in a palate-pleasing array of Tasmanian wines (and beer) and engage with some of Tasmania's most inspirational wine people.
Each session will be held in the Pioneer Lobby, Albert Hall. Session access only available via event. Enter via Victoria's Cafe in City Park.
Saturday 8 February - $20pp (Does not include Festivale entry ticket)
Sunday 9 February - $20pp (Does not include Festivale entry ticket),
Plumm Wine Experience, $55 including Festivale ticket and Plumm glassware used in the tasting

1. Tasmania, the 'Champagne' of the Southern Hemisphere
Dr Andrew Pirie, Apogee
When it comes to fizz, they say Champagne is king. Or is it? Due to its cool climate some local winemakers like to think of Tasmania as 'the Champagne of the Southern Hemisphere'. Dr. Andrew Pirie, one of Tasmania's and Australia's finest winemakers, brings his outstanding knowledge and forty years of experience in the wine industry to this not to be missed master class.

3. James Boags - Four Beers, Four Cheeses

Contrary to popular belief beer is an incredible cheese accompaniment. Taste your way through selected beers from James Boag and King Island cheeses – a sure fire way to satisfy beer lovers and cheesaholics!

4. Two Sins - Wine and Chocolate

Wine and chocolate... two sinful necessities of life. Theresa Streefland from Cocobean believes it's only a matter of time before people will know chocolate like they know wine. So enjoy a sensual afternoon of decadent and daring combinations with Cocobean's Chief Chocolatier and Award winning winery, Goaty Hill Tasmania.

Join, the 2014 Festivale Wine Awards judges, Winsor Dobbin and James Welch as they take you through a tasting of the winning wines and explain why these wines are considered to be the best of the best at Festivale 2014.

2. The Valley in a Glass
Anthony Woollams, Chairman, Tamar Valley Wine Route (TVWR)
Named by Essential Travel Magazine as one of the Top 10 wine routes in the world, the TVWR is an authentic journey through some of Australia's most beautiful vineyards. Anthony Woollams, TVWR Chairman will lead you on a tasting tour of the valley, sharing the region's history, good stories and great wine along the way.

3. Chardonnay - Everything Old is New Again
Fran Holloway, Delamere Vineyards & Rebecca Wilson, Holm Oak Vineyards
Fashions come and go. Remember the 80's when Chardonnay was king? Now Chardonnay is making a comeback. Or did it ever really go away! Two of Tasmania's best winemakers take you on a Chardonnay tasting that will tell you why we can happily drink Chardonnay again!
