Mary Meets Mohammad

Students, Staff, Alumni and friends are invited to attend the first Launceston screening of the recently released film, Mary Meets Mohammad, on Wednesday 19th June in the Sir Raymond Ferrall Centre at UTAS Newnham campus.

Refreshments are at 5.30pm followed by the screening at 6pm.

This film follows the arrival of the first detainees at Tasmania’s Pontville detention centre. The story is told through the eyes of local Christian woman, and knitting club member, Mary, and Muslim Afghan Hazara asylum seeker, Mohammad, as they connect through the gift of a knitted beanie.

Q & A session with film maker - Film maker and UTAS alumna Heather Kirkpatrick will participate in an Q&A session after the screening.

This important event is proudly supported by UTAS Alumni and the Launceston Engagement & Development Office.
