SIREN Rock For MS is dedicating funds raised from the 3rd inaugural Rock For MS concert being held on Sept 19 at Charles Hotel to Multiple Sclerosis and Other Neurological Conditions.  All profits go to The MS Society of WA with 75% of the funds raised going to Multiple Sclerosis Research and in support of the current Australian campaign to raise funds and awareness for Motor Neuron Disease (MND), the remaining 25% of the funds raised will be filtered through to MND Research. There is currently no cure for MS or MND‬. We stand in solidarity with all neurological patients and hope to again add our part to the whole in our third year and in the coming years as we all surge ahead in hope of a cure for all!

Did you know? Relapsing/Remitting is the most common form of MS and is usually diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50.

MS is a disease of the central nervous system which results in damage to myelin - a protective sheath surrounding the nerve fibres. When myelin is damaged this interferes with messages between the brain and other parts of the body. The symptoms of MS are different for each person. For some people, MS is characterised by periods of relapse and remission while for others it has a progressive pattern. For everyone it makes life unpredictable. It is estimated that over 23,000 people in Australia have MS. An additional 1,000 Australians are diagnosed with MS every year, equating to approximately four people every working day. 2.5 million people are living with MS worldwide. 16 people per month are diagnosed in Western Australia. While there are some treatments available to help to prevent the progression of MS, there is no known cure. Researchers are constantly working to find a cure.
