The Sweetest Plum is a comedy podcast by comedy writers Nick Maxwell and Declan Fay. This year the show celebrated its fourth year, recorded its 100th episode and released a greatest hits album, “The Sweetest”, which was a best seller on Bandcamp.
The Sweetest Plum started as a form of therapy after a TV show Nick and Dec were working on was axed.
Nick and Dec have worked on some of the biggest comedy shows in Australia, and a couple absolutely shitful shows which they hope never appear on their IMDB page. They met while writing for Rove, where Nick was the voice (and very distinctive laugh) of Kevin Rudd PM, and Dec wrote a wanking joke about Pauline Hanson that somehow made it to air and nearly got him fired.
The Sweetest Plum also had a brief stint on Triple M, although they can’t discuss that because the station may murder one of their family members.
After a few years of annual live shows in Melbourne, The Sweetest Plum is holding their first Sydney live podcast on Thursday 4th December at Easy Tiger, Paddington. Come fill the room with joy boys, big boys, bombshells and best fronds for a night that will be fizzing at the bung.
