The City of Cockburn presents a screening of "A PLASTIC OCEAN": an award winning film about the impact of plastic on our oceans.
Described by Sir David Attenborough as “one of the most important films of our time", A Plastic Ocean is a documentary that shows the crisis facing our ocean from our disposable lifestyle. An international team of adventurers, researchers, and ocean ambassadors go on a mission around the globe to uncover the shocking truth about what is truly lurking beneath the surface of our seemingly pristine ocean. It brings to light the consequences of our global disposable lifestyle and shows never-before-seen images of marine life, plastic pollution, and its ultimate consequences for human health.
Hear from Liza Dicks from Sea Shepherd about their work in reducing marine debris and kick off Plastic Free July with a discussion with founder, Rebecca Prince-Ruiz.
