Amity Dry is an Australian singer, actress, writer and composer who is well known for her roles on the hit TV show ‘The Block,’ her top 10 album ‘The Lighthouse’ and her critically acclaimed musical ‘Mother, Wife and the Complicated Life.’


Amity released her debut album THE LIGHTHOUSE in 2003 which peaked at #6 on the Aria chart, was certified Gold and featured one of the most played songs on Australian radio that year. Her follow up album TRUE TO ME achieved national airplay with the single Rollercoaster.


Amity wrote, composed and starred in the musical, MOTHER, WIFE AND THE COMPLICATED LIFE which preimeired in the 2011 Adelaide Fringe and has gone on to play over 100 shows throughout Australia to critical acclaim. It was selected for the 2014 NEW YORK MUSICAL THEATRE FESTIVAL, played at the ‘Commission for the Status of Women Conference’ at the UNITED NATIONS, a concert at 54 BELOW New York and was translated into Norwegian for a season in Kristiansand, Norway. It recently performed a West End showcase to critical acclaim and is currently in development for a 2019 UK tour with the new title THE (M)OTHER LIFE.


Amity’s written and performed in the cabaret shows SO YOU WANT TO BE FAMOUS (Adelaide Fringe Festival, Adelaide Cabaret Fringe Festival) TAPESTRY – A TRIBUTE TO CAROLE KING (Adelaide Cabaret Fringe Festival, SA Tour) and THE BLOCK TO BROADWAY (Adelaide Cabaret Festival) and featured in PICTURE PERFECT – The Songs of Scott Evan Davies (Adelaide Cabaret Festival) and IN GOOD COMPANY – The Songs of Matthew Lee Robinson. Amity’s latest cabaret show 39 FOREVER had a sell out season in the 2017 Adelaide Fringe Festival, selling out 15 shows and receiving multiple 5 star reviews. It played a return season in the 2018 Adelaide Fringe, received 5 star reviews in the 2018 Melbourne Comedy Festival and recently toured nationally.


Amity’s TV music performances include THE TODAY SHOW, MORNINGS WITH DAVID AND SONIA, GMA, A CURRENT AFFAIR, MORNINGS WITH KERRI-ANNE, MICALLAF TONIGHT the Sydney Myer Music Bowl CAROLS BY CANDLELIGHT.
