Do you have any unused bicycles gathering dust at home? Why not drop them off at our Bicycle Donation Drop-off Day and give someone in need access to sustainble transport!
During Bike Month, the City of Joondalup is partnering with Bicycles for Humanity WA - a volunteer-run non-profit organsiation that repairs and delivers pre-loved bicycles to remote communties across WA and villages in rural Africa, providing essential transportation for the community to reach healthcare, work or school.
Please ensure your bicycles are:
- in reasonable condition
- not terribly rusty, broken, or beyond repair
- an Adult sized sturdy hybrid, mountain bike or BMX - these are the most useful and suitable
- not a small child's bike - generally these can't be accepted as it is difficult to find homes for the really little ones.
If in doubt, please drop by and we can assess your bicycle. If deemed unsuitable for dontation, we will recycle it at the City's metal recycling facility.
Register your interest, including how many bicycles you wish to donate, to assist the team in gauging donation numbers.
If you have any questions, please contact the City's Active Transport Officer on 9400 4000
