Take a deep breath and BREATH AGAIN with a sparkling New Work by celebrated composer, Daniel Rojas, commissioned by the WPO for this exhilarating and refreshing concert.

The WPO shines the spotlight on two of its principal players, Marjorie Maydwell (harp) and Martin Cohen (flute) in the charming Double Concerto by Mozart.

And like a breath of fresh air, we are proud to present the rarely performed whimsical and charming Symphony by Bizet. The only symphonic work in his output, and composed when Bizet was only 17 years old. This work is not only beautiful to listen to, but a remarkable milestone in melodic invention, thematic handling and orchestration and a real treat to present. 

 

The WPO is thrilled to welcome back to the conductor’s stand, our long standing associate and friend, Brad Lucas who conducted the WPCO (Woollahra Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra) during the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions.
