Rag Rug Making Afternoon Session with Naomi from The Sewloist

Thursday, October 5
1.30pm to 3.30pm (2 hours)

Join Naomi from The Sewloist to learn the technique of making Rag Rugs from up-cycled fabric and remnants. Using only a safety pin and strips of fabric you will each make the beginnings of a Rag Rug.

Making Rag Rugs is a great way to up-cycle worn bed linen and to make use of your fabric stash.

A selection of fabrics will be provided to work with the during this 2 hour Workshop, however you are encouraged to bring your own lightweight woven Cottons (including fabric, bed sheets, pillowcases..) that can be torn into long strips to make your Rag
Rug.

This workshop gives you the starting point and techniques for making this style of Rag Rug, however the process of completing
your own rug will take more than 2 hours. This means that you will be taking your project home with you to complete.

Skill level: Suits all levels.

Class cost: $55

Students please bring: Bring nothing but nimble fingers!

PLEASE NOTE: Workshop is available for visitors to the fair. Class fee does not include the fair entry ticket which must be purchased separately.
