Global Cities After Dark fosters and promotes the reform journeys of cities - celebrating local success stories in context with international case studies. GCAD works in alignment with a city’s objectives for growing its nighttime economy across diverse industry and stakeholder groups.

GCAD Sydney 2021 is a week-long capacity building and resilience focussed program of keynotes, sector-specific workshops, think-tanks and a  ‘Celebrate Local’ closing event, co-designed with local NTE sector leaders.

The program during the week is focused on the following sectors within Sydney’s Night-Time Economy:

  • Hospitality

  • Live Music and Entertainment

  • Major Events and Tourism

  • Transport and Health & Safety

The Global Cities After Dark Sydney 2021 program concludes with the ‘Celebrate Local’ closing event - a live music, performance and culinary experience. It is the first opportunity since the pandemic that brings the key stakeholders and actors within Sydney’s Night-Time Economy together. ‘Celebrate Local’ highlights the roadmap ahead in 2021 as Sydney embarks on the implementation of the NSW 24-Hour Economy Strategy. Please join us to celebrate this new chapter in Sydney’s life after dark.

Global Cities After Dark 2021 is proudly sponsored by the NSW Government, the City of Sydney and Powerhouse Museum through the Powerhouse NSW Creative Industries Residency Program.
