The City of Joondalup is a future-focused, digitally aware City, with a global outlook and a vision to be “A Global City: Bold, Creative and Prosperous. Joondalup is the first Digital City and Innovation Hub in WA and one of the top 20 Smart City councils in Australia, with world class attraction and investment opportunities. Joondalup is transitioning from an economy supported by population growth to one driven by business investment, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

In the first Forum of 2022, Premier the Hon. Mark McGowan MLA will speak about the importance of economic diversification to Western Australia’s economy. As Western Australia opens its doors and engages with the world, it is important to understand how local communities like Joondalup fit in with the global economy.

The Business Forum will also feature an economic update from Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA Chief Economist – Aaron Morey, who will set the scene on the global economy and Australia’s outlook during Covid-19. He will focus on where Western Australia stands in the national economy and bring to light some of the challenges and supply chain vulnerabilities that have emerged.

Digital disruption, the global pandemic, and the changing workplace affect our community, families, employment and businesses. The post-pandemic world presents major opportunities for Joondalup as Perth’s northern growth and innovation hub. With capabilities in education, health, tourism, cyber, AI, robotics and digital, the City is well poised to support WA’s recovery.
