IN A RESTLESS HOUSE ALBUM TOUR – APRIL 2016
‘Bursting with finely crafted pop, swathed in post-punk and new wave, all anchored by their signature baritone.’ – triple j Feature Album
‘One of this country’s most assured, and exciting debut albums in a long time.’ – Pilerats
After performing two huge killer sets at Lost Paradise and Falls Music and Arts Festival over the holiday break, plus an upcoming slot at Melbourne’s Sugar Mountain on Saturday 23 January, City Calm Down are rolling into 2016 on fire!
Singles ‘Son’ and ‘Rabbit Run’ – from the band’s highly acclaimed debut album, In A Restless House – are currently all over the airwaves, the four-piece gearing up for their national album tour in April 2016, presented by I OH YOU and triple j.
Attention Perth fans: City Calm Down are headed your way, with two new shows to announce. They’ll hit the stage at Jimmy’s Den in Perth on Friday 15 April, and again at Mojo’s Bar in North Fremantle on Saturday 16 April. Tickets for both shows are on sale now.
I OH YOU is also pleased to reveal City Calm Down’s Melbourne headline show on Saturday 9 April at Corner Hotel is officially sold out! A second hometown show on Thursday 7 April is now on sale – and tickets are already moving quickly!
Joining the tour are two acts also busy making waves: Brisbane singer Airling (all shows except WA) and Problems (all shows except Melbourne on Thursday 7 April).
Airling, aka Hannah Shephard, had a mammoth 2015 thanks to triple j faves like ‘Stallin’’ and ‘Forces’ (with Japanese Wallpaper), which follow on from the release of her debut EP Love Gracefully, recorded with Big Scary/No. 1 Dads’ Tom Iansek. In 2015 she toured with Vance Joy, played Splendour In The Grass, AIR Awards and triple j’s Unearthed ARIA Showcase, while she’ll next perform as a feature vocalist alongside Japanese Wallpaper at February’s St Jerome’s Laneway Festival.
Hailing from Adelaide is producer duo Problems, whose dreamy track ‘Capture Me’ won fans over two years back. Now, they’ve returned to the fore with an upcoming slot at WOMADelaide and a brand new number ‘Pretending’, praised by Pilerats for its “washed-out percussion and triumphant vocals”.
With all shows selling fast this tour is not to be missed.
