Bill Townsend
Senior Vice President INPEX
Bill oversees the Corporate Affairs, Strategy & Planning, Finance, Treasury & Technology, and Commercial functions in Australia as well as INPEX’s corporate interests in the Northern Territory. Bill earned a BA (Political Science) from Northwestern University and an MBA from Dartmouth College. He holds dual American-Australian citizenship. Bill serves on the boards of the American Chamber of Commerce in Australia, the Australian Energy Producers and the Australian Resources & Energy Employer Association. He also serves on the executive council of the Chamber of Minerals and Energy of Western Australia and on the advisory boards of the Starlight Children’s Foundation (WA/NT) and the WA Maritime Museum. Bill actively supports the Committee for Perth.
Catherine Bell
Director, ESG and Climate Services RSM
Catherine is heavily involved with helping navigate, activate, manage and improve on integrating sustainability throughout a business so they are compliant and can compete in a rapidly transforming economy. Armed with an economics background, Catherine understands how businesses must be compliant when reporting on areas of a business. She also acknowledges that businesses need to detect trends in order to survive in the ever-evolving world of innovation. Being able to leverage this knowledge with her specialty in ESG and sustainability, Catherine has a specialised skillset allowing her to integrate strategies, solutions and risk aversion to businesses across an array of sectors.
Meheroop Chopra
Head of Green Power Fortescue
As the Head of the Green Power portfolio for Fortescue’s flagship Decarbonisation project, Meheroop stands at the forefront of advancing cutting-edge renewable energy solutions. Fortescue, a global leader in iron ore production and sustainable energy, has set the world's most ambitious decarbonisation target, Real Zero by 2030.
Meheroop oversees a portfolio with a projected cost exceeding USD $3 billion upon completion. This comprehensive initiative includes the development of large-scale wind and solar farms, gigawatt-level energy storage systems, and a green fuel-based power station. The integration of these components is meticulously managed through sophisticated power and grid management systems. Once complete, Fortescue will own one of the world's largest standalone variable energy grids, enabling complete decarbonisation of its mining operations.
With a background spanning 17 years, Meheroop brings extensive expertise in Oil and Gas, Renewables, and Mining projects. His experience encompasses project development, commissioning, start-up, and operational support for Natural Gas distribution networks, LNG plants, and renewable energy projects.
Before joining Fortescue, Meheroop dedicated over nine years to Chevron Australia, contributing to the success of the $USD 100 billion Gorgon and Wheatstone projects. His role involved supporting both project and operations teams, ensuring the smooth commissioning and start-up transition into safe and reliable operations.
Meheroop holds an Honors Engineering degree from Curtin University in Perth as well as a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from the same institution.
Ryan Martin
Associate Director, HR and Workplace Relations, CCIWA
Ryan has 15 years of management and industrial relations experience, providing quality legal advice to businesses in a wide range of industries. Ryan's expertise includes providing employment solutions that contribute to the strategic thinking and direction of businesses. This allows businesses to meet their core objectives and values by effectively drafting and negotiating contractual agreements. He is able to provide advice and assistance across a range of areas including employment law, discrimination/equal opportunity and strategic negotiations. Ryan has also assisted clients in defending various claims in the Fair Work Commission and Federal Court.
Sam Bartholomaeus
Vice President Renewables and Power Woodside
As Vice President Renewables and Power, Sam Bartholomaeus is accountable for Woodside Energy’s global power portfolio. This includes the decarbonisation of power for its operating assets, low emission power solutions for proposed hydrogen opportunities and the marketing of unique renewable technologies. Before joining Woodside, Sam worked across the energy value chain globally (Australia, Singapore, United States), including 14 years with BHP.
Darren Stralow
Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer Bellevue Gold
Mr. Stralow is an experienced mining executive and qualified mining engineer with over 20 years’ industry experience. Prior to joining Bellevue, he was a member of the senior management team at Northern Star Resources for over 10 years, with roles including head of operations and head of business development. He has extensive experience in strategy development and execution, building and operating modern underground mining operations, business integration and transformation, and building high performing teams.
Ray Loh
Manager, ICNWA
Ray has extensive experience in the supply chain industry, having supplied goods and services to clients in the industry during his time as a General Manager at an electrical business as well as working with major projects at ICNWA (Industry Capability Network Western Australia). Joining ICN in 2012, he currently manages ICNWA which is involved in numerous major projects across various industries including energy, resources, renewables, infrastructure and defence among others. Another aspect of his role is managing the Aboriginal Business Directory WA (ABDWA) which involves working closely with Aboriginal businesses and stakeholders to build their capabilities.
