CORMEGA, aka MEGA is a USA hip hop artist, highly regarded for powerful lyricism & ability to give descriptive accounts of inner city life, derived from his own experiences & struggles in the NYC streets during the 80s & 90s.   

Hailing from Queens Bridge, where he spent the majority of his young life, Cory McKay, better known as Mega or Cormega spent his early years hustling and boxing, known around the streets for his associations and lifestyle that lead him to trouble and tragedy as a young teen. It was these experiences that became the basis of his rhymes, telling stories of New York street life and the hustle, of overcoming adversity. It was then in 2001 that he released his 1st studio album, “The* Realness”, a collection of tracks deeply rooted in the realness he’d experienced during his years in the streets.  

With a solid collection of albums and collaborations since his first full album was released in 2001 he has made a serious name for himself across New York & globally, MEGA has gained a lot of respect worldwide for his skilful lyricism & music, with the knowledge and understanding of both the street life and the struggles of young people hustling on the streets of New York and relatable to audiences in every city.

 • Following The Realness, The True Meaning was the first independent album to ever win a Source Award for Independent Album of the Year.  

• Cormega then went on to record “The Testament” which featured in Ego Trips Book of Rap, and was listed as one of the best albums in history not released.  

• Mega was received The “Impact Artist” Award, in the Underground Artist Awards 2004for his contribution and impact to hip hop scene and genre. 

  

    

 

Mega has produced album after album since 2001 and is yet to disappoint fans or critics. Every solo album to date has held in high regard or considered classic and it is widely said that Cormega ‘changed the game’, exploding onto the scene with amazing skill to be crowned as a multi award winning artist in just the first few years of his career, and the respect and recognition of hip hop fans and cities, worldwide.  

He has continued on his path with ongoing successes as an independent hip hop artist over the last fifteen years, and is currently working on his 2016 album, singles and collaborations with a number of legendary names & gearing up for performances internationally as he tours worldwide to mark the 15 year anniversary of his first full length album “The Realness”, released in 2001.  

Cormega has worked with the biggest names in hip hop over the years, from Nas & AZ to DJ Premier, Mobb Deep, Masta Ace, Wu-Tang members Raekwon, Methodman, Ghostface Killiah, as well as Redman, Large Professor & many other legendary producers & emcees across his career and when forming The Firm with Nas, AZ & Foxy Brown. This ended abruptly however and began the bitter feued between Mega and Nas, his childhood friend, holding the attention of the hip hop community and fans worldwide.
Mega’s last studio release was own style of 'Mega Philosophy' ft. Large Professor, Redman, Raekwon, AZ + more. This album, released July 2014was well received by the hip hop world and noted as one of the top releases of that period.

Now, 2016 marks the 15 year anniversary of its release and huge successes of Cormega’s first studio album release and career as one of the most respected yet underrated hip hop artists in history, who made his name as one of the most successful independent rappers of the era.  

Cormega will be heading Down Under perform in Australia and New Zealand in the coming months (May/June), as well as hitting stages in Asia,Europeand the UK during 2016, marking the 15th anniversary of the release of “THE REALNESS” at the launch of Mega’s career in 2001.  

Cormega will also be available for signings, in-store appearances, for guest speaking and guest appearances and features throughout the tour and year.
