Discovery Outbound - Kaarakin Conservation Centre

City of Joondalup Libraries’ Discovery Outbound program offers a wide range of activities and excursions for adults aged 50 and older that are active, creative, educational and entertaining.

Do you love native wildlife and the amazing black cockatoos? Learn about the conservation of black cockatoos and other rescued wildlife at the Kaarakin Cockatoo Conservation Centre in the Perth hills near Roleystone.  Take a guided walk through beautiful bushland and get the chance to meet the birds.  Then on the way home, buy yourself something to eat (or byo on the bus) and take a photo at the beautiful Raeburn Orchard where the persimmons will be finishing up their autumnal change. (subject to weather conditions) 

9.15am: depart Whitford Library

10.30am: guided Tour of conservation centre  

12.15pm: visit Raeburn Orchard (purchase own food and Orchard walk entry fee $5) subject to weather conditions

2.30pm - approx time to arrive back at Whitford Library 

Ticket price includes return trip by bus from Whitford Library and a light refreshments at Kaarakin.

Notes: 

Please be aware this excursion requires ability to bushwalk/walk along gravel pathways.

Cancellations and refunds: 
A program will only be cancelled if there are insufficient enrolments received one day prior to the event or due to factors beyond the City’s control. No individual refunds or credits will be given for general non-attendance.
