- Details
You may know that Ada Lovelace, daughter of Romantic poet Lord Byron, is considered the world’s first computer programmer and that 1940s actress Hedy Lamarr is often referred to as the “mother of wifi” but have you heard of the woman who wrote a comprehensive catalogue of the stars that was published under her brother’s name, or the women’s rights campaigner who discovered the greenhouse effect? Come learn about the women of science whose discoveries have been forgotten, ignored, credited to – or stolen by – their male colleagues.
Cost $5.00. Book and pay online.
For further information on this event please call the City on 9400 4751.
Please note, the competition will run for approximately one hour, and refreshments are included.
