Event Description
Discovery Session - A Biodiverse Urban Forest

Join WA Loves Nature to learn more about the importance of urban trees and take home the perfect native tree for you and your garden!

This workshop will not only discuss the importance of the City’s remnant bushland and why it's so crucial for us to preserve and protect it; it will also share how you can help improve tree canopy in your own backyard.

Be inspired to improve biodiversity and create corridors for our native and endangered wildlife. Learn all about which trees provide habitat for wildlife that depend on trees for their survival, such as Brushtail possums, Lesser Long-eared Bats and the endangered Carnaby’s Black Cockatoo!

This workshop will celebrate the beautiful biodiversity that our native trees support, and their pivotal role in providing environmental and social benefits to the entire community. Trees reduce urban heat island effect, enhance air quality, mitigate noise pollution, promote a healthy lifestyle for everyone and more!

Discover how you can take advantage of and maximise the benefits of trees in your own garden by attending this Discovery Session. You will get to take home a free native tree seedling and all the information necessary to help it survive and thrive in your garden!

For further information on this event please call the City on 9400 4751.

Please note, the presentation will run for approximately 2 hour, and refreshments are included.
