DJ EZ (UK)

This Friday February 6^th New Guernica is extremely pleased to host none other than UK Garage legend DJ EZ.

Growing up in Tottenham, North London, DJ EZ got into DJing through way of Pirate Radio in the burgeoning late 1980’s scene. After a variety of shows and pirate stations, DJ EZ began his own club night and Club Z and over the course of the nineties his DJ career soared. In November 1999 EZ made his transition to commercial radio, garnering a guest spot on Kiss 100 that eventually lead to his permanent primetime slot. It is here that he held his weekly residence till September 2014 after a staggering 14 years on air.

Around the same time his radio success was taking off, Warner Music chose DJ EZ to mix Pure Garage, a new UK garage compilation CD. Pure Garage went on to receive platinum record sales and peaked at number two in the UK national compilation chart. This led to a series of albums mixed by DJ EZ and the Pure Garage series being the most acknowledged (and best-selling) UK garage compilation series to date (having sold over 2 million records). EZ has also compiled mixes for Ministry of Sound and Fabric along with a number of coveted EPs and remixes.
