Discovery Outbound - Gold Tour

City of Joondalup Libraries’ Discovery Outbound program offers a wide range of activities and excursions for adults aged 50 and older that are active, creative, educational and entertaining.

The Perth Mint Gold Tour includes a live gold pour, the world’s largest gold coin and a guided walk through the exhibition of interactive displays.

Celebrating its 125th anniversary, The Perth Mint offers visitors opportunities to see an abundance of golden treasures.

A knowledgeable guide will lead the tour showcasing gold in many forms, including enormous nuggets, cast bullion bars, and historic coins. Watch a live gold pour in the atmospheric confines of the original Melting House and stand in front of the Guinness World Records One Tonne Gold Coin, worth more than $90 million.  

Attendees can also browse the shop and its collection of coins, jewellery and other collectable and investment pieces.

Bus departs from Whitford Library at 9.30am, arriving by 10.15am, and returning about 1.15pm. The guided tour will start 10.30am.

Ticket price includes transport and entry to venue.

Adult tickets are available to any adults aged 50 and older. Only City of Joondalup residents who hold a valid WA Seniors, Commonwealth Seniors Health or Pensioner Concession card may purchase Concession tickets.

A program will only be cancelled if there are insufficient enrolments received one day prior to the event or due to factors beyond the City’s control. No individual refunds or credits will be given for general non-attendance.
