Beginning in the early 2000’s Downsyde’s approach was more akin to a Punk Band with a massive national and international touring regime. Their Beastie Boy-esque live setup was very unique at that time and saw that band breaking ground forging national tour circuits from the metro to the country and then overseas. Way before the genre had “household names” Downsyde helped hiphop become a staple diet on the nations dinner plate. With a combined heritage of Burmese, Middle Eastern, Italian, Aboriginal, European and Latin this multi-dimensional group created a sound that is now revered around the world. After the devastating loss of good mate Hunter, a severe case of tour fatigue and a lengthy break THE ICONS ARE BACK with the a tasty teaser lifted off the new album ClassicILL called “Only Got Now”.
