Dublin-born chef and restaurateur Colin Fassnidge is best known for his sharp wit, bold flavours, and no-nonsense approach to food. He first appeared as a guest judge on My Kitchen Rules in 2012 and quickly became a fan favourite, eventually joining the series as a full-time judge in both Australia and New Zealand.
In 2024, Colin joined the much-loved Better Homes and Gardens as the resident chef, appearing most Friday nights to cook up simple, delicious dishes with his trademark flair. He also starred in Off the Grid, a New Zealand-based series that launched in 2025 and was warmly received by critics and audiences alike. The show sees Colin immersed in local food, culture, and community, with plenty of laughs and unexpected moments along the way.Colin’s culinary roots trace back to London’s acclaimed Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons, where he began his apprenticeship in 1994 under his idol, Raymond Blanc. After five formative years in the UK, he moved to Sydney and worked at some of the city’s top restaurants, including Banc and est., where he also met his wife, Jane.
Over the years, Colin has led several acclaimed kitchens and is especially proud of his time at the iconic Four in Hand, where he earned two hats, and at his own hatted
restaurant, 4Fourteen. His culinary philosophy and personal stories are captured in his books, Four Kitchens and The Commonsense Cook.
Away from the camera, Colin is a pinot noir-loving, motorbike-riding family man who credits his parents as his earliest culinary influences. Deeply committed to community and charity work, he continues to use his profile to give back and support
causes close to his heart
Working in collaboration with Stillwater executive chef, Craig Will and his team, Colin will design a lunch menu highlighting Tasmanian produce with each course being matched with a glass of Tasmanian Wine.
