Although they vaguely knew each other while attending the same high school in their native New Zealand, it wasn’t until both vocalist Conor, and producer Barnaby relocated to Melbourne that the pair re-connected.

By chance, they ended up at the same house party where Barnaby told friends what an amazing singer Conor was. After being provoked by the crowd, Conor sang an acapella rendition of D’Angelo ‘Devils Pie’ and everyone in attendance stood in awe. Later that evening, Barnaby invited Conor to record some vocals and they ended up creating a playful cover of Pink’s ‘There You Go’. Shortly after, Fortunes. was born.

Before signing to Future Classic, the duo released two independent projects: 2015’s Hoodie EP and early 2016’s Jacket EP. Live, they have supported Shlohmo, Kllo, Lapsley, Kilo Kish, JMSN and Oddisee, sold-out headline shows and played Splendour In the Grass, Let Them Eat Cake and Big Sound Festivals. In 2017 they will support AlunaGeorge and perform at St Jerome’s Laneway Festival.

New single 501’s is the first offering from their forthcoming project in 2017. “It’s about when the weather is hot and you see a hot guy and he looks real good in his jeans”, says Conor of the single. It’s a day-dreamy, sunset jam with tongue in cheek storytelling, syrupy synths and stacks of vocal harmonies that builds on a sound uniquely their own.

Ziggy is an emerging hip hop artist out of Perth, WA. His latest EP Black Thoughts, released 13th April, consists of 3 tracks. It depicts an Insightful experience into the landscape of race relations in modern Australia.

Musically, his style and genre speaks to that of Golden Era hip hop with focus on lyrical content over clean beats with classical overlay.

Growing up in remote Arnhem Land, regional NSW, Sydney and Perth and with family connections in Far North Queensland, his music speaks to the silenced injustices of Aboriginal Australia as well as other social issues.

Lyrically influenced by artists such as Yasiin Bey (Mos Def), Lauryn Hill and Common as well as activists like Charlie Perkins, Garey Foley and Adam Goodes, Ziggy finds passion in giving voice to issues affecting those not heard.

Demon Days is a new, four member Jazz Funk/Neo Soul collective set to blow audiences minds. Fresh out of the depths of Fremantle, the four-piece garner influences from Hip hop, Soul, Funk, Jazz, squash them together and see what happens...

Having impressed their family, friends and the occasional punter over the last couple months at venues all around Perth, Demon Days are gearing up to have a massive next few months. They've supported Sex on Toast and Sampology and played sets at Badlands and WAMFest Saturday Spectacular.

Based in Perth, Amber Akilla has taken her talents between China and Australia. Having played support for acts including Flava D, Chimpo, Sinjin Hawke, Trippy Turtle, San Holo and LEFto she injects her sass into her sets, mixing hip hop, grime, *techno* and booty shaking future bass.
