Foundation and Friends of the Botanic Gardens invites you to experience New Year’s Eve at our exclusive open-air waterfront picnic. Situated on the Mare and Foal Lawn within the stunning Royal Botanic Garden, this is one of the best vantage points in town!
Not only is this a great location to enjoy NYE, you are also supporting Foundation & Friends in advancing science, horticulture, conservation and education in the Botanic Gardens.
This self-catered outdoor picnic-style event is perfect for groups of all ages, including families with children. The event is fully enclosed in a secure area, where you will be able to stretch-out with your picnic rug to enjoy the iconic Sydney harbour fireworks show. The Mare and Foal Lawn is one of the few harbour-side locations in Sydney where alcohol (BYO) is permitted. Capacity is limited at this family-friendly event, so that guests may have the freedom to relax in the ample space provided.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
All tickets are non-refundable and non-transferrable.
Any ineligible ticket purchases will be refunded and you will be notified. It will then be the member’s responsibility to re-book the tickets correctly. For more information about T&Cs call (02) 9231 8182.
Ticket Information
Tickets must be booked by Members of Foundation & Friends of the Botanic Gardens only, and will be emailed to the purchasing email address upon booking.
A maximum of 10 tickets can be purchased per membership i.e. if you have a Household Membership you are entitled to two (2) member priced tickets, plus eight (8) non-member tickets, plus additional children’s tickets. If you have an Individual Membership you are entitled to one (1) member priced ticket, plus nine (9) non-member tickets, plus additional children’s tickets

Q: How do I join as a Foundation and Friends of the Botanic Gardens (Foundation & Friends) member?
A: If you are not already a member please purchase a ticket bundle, which includes a Foundation & Friends Membership as well as tickets to the NYE Picnic Event.
Q: If I change my mind or my circumstances change can my tickets be refunded?
A: No. Once the tickets have been issued, there will be no refunds. Tickets are non-transferable.
Q: Will tickets be sold at the event?
A: No. There will be no ticket sales at the event. All attendees must present a ticket to gain entry.
Q: How do we enter the Botanic Garden for the event?
A: Entry will open at 5pm via the Woolloomooloo Gate on Mrs Macquaries Road. Exit will be via the same point.
Q: My partner and I have a Household membership, how many tickets can we buy?
A: You can purchase a maximum of 10 tickets in total, including 2 member tickets at $130 each, 8 member’s guest tickets at $150 each plus additional childrens tickets.
Q: Can I buy food at the event?
A: No, this is a self-catered event. All food and drinks must be brought into the event. Please note no glass or sharp knives are permitted at the event, please use plastic utensils and cups.
Q: Can I bring alcohol into the event?
A: Yes. The amount of alcohol permitted per person must fit into the equivalent of a small handheld esky. We encourage the responsible consumption of alcohol. Please note all glass bottles will be confiscated on entry. Please decant into plastic bottles/containers prior to arrival.
Q: What type of event is this?
A: It is an open-air family-friendly picnic on the grass overlooking Sydney Harbour and the bridge.
Q: Can I bring my own chairs to this event? Please bring low laying chairs (e.g. beach chairs) and picnic rugs with you. High chairs (such as camping chairs) or chairs with legs that may damage the grass are not permitted.
Q: I have lost my ticket, what do I do?
A: Your ticket has been emailed to you, please check the ticketbooth website for additional assistance.
Are you Booking from Overseas?
