The IGA Fremantle Seafood Festival will be held on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th February 2016, from 10am to 5pm at the Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour and Bathers Beach, Fremantle. It celebrates the abundance of seafood, and the history of the industry that the Fremantle Port city is famous for. With a strong focus on fresh organic local produce, the Fremantle Seafood Festival also promotes the states premium wines, and boutique beverages.
The Fremantle Seafood Festival is a family friendly event, which attracts discerning locals, tourists, and food and wine enthusiasts. The location on Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour and Bathers Beach is idyllic in its heritage and history, with its modern amenities and attractions. 

The Fisherman's Table Feast with Josh Catalano and Pete Manifis.

Renowned WA chefs Peter Manifis and Josh Catalano have teamed up to present a unique and exclusive seafood experience! In a first of its kind interactive dining experience, you will watch two of the best seafood chefs in Western Australia cook their seafood specialties and serve them straight to your plate.

Join us for an expansive menu of amazing fresh local seafood, cooked with commentary from the chefs and special guests and accompanied by the some of WA’s best wines and boutique beers, all in an oceanside setting overlooking the stunning waters of Bather’s Beach. The Fisherman’s Table Seafood Feasts are unique and exclusive, with a limited number of seats. There will be three Fisherman's Table Seafood Feasts, Lunch and a Sunset Dinner on Saturday 27th Feb and a Lunch on Sunday 28th Feb. Tickets are $180 per person + booking fee. Times: 12.30pm-3pm Saturday; 6pm-8.30pm Saturday; 12.30pm-3pm Sunday.


Seafood Masterclasses with Chef Bart Beek.

This year the Festival introduces the Seafood Masterclasses, a unique hands-on experience with celebrity chef Bart Beek teaching the art of cooking seafood.

Participants will cook Spiced Crispy-skin Cone Bay Barramundi with avocado foam, soy glaze and summer salad. A perfect portion of Cone Bay Barramundi seasoned with seductive North African spices and pan grilled until the skin turns crisp and golden. This beautiful summer dish is presented on a velvety avocado foam with the perfect balance of a soy-sesame glaze. It is accompanied by a lemon couscous summer salad, scented with nasturtiums and a sherry walnut vinaigrette.

This Masterclass presentation by Chef Bart Beek is totally hands-on and guides you through the correct processes required to produce perfect crispy fish skin each time. North African spices are pan-roasted and ground to produce ‘Berberé’, one of the world’s most aromatic spice blends. Learn how to use modern ingredients and techniques to create smooth foams and dazzling glazes. Then follow Bart’s steps to plate up a beautiful fine dining seafood work of art.

Cooking stations will be set up to work in partners, and participants can gain culinary skills and have fun as they cook their dish, and then enjoy their own cooking in the exclusive class area. Seafood Masterclasses will be presented four times per day and are $35 per person + booking fee.
