The James Morrison and GIJ Scholarships are one of the most vibrant and exciting parts of the Generations in Jazz Festival.
Each year, twelve of Australia’s top emerging talent vie for the honour of becoming the winner of the prestigious James Morrison and GIJ Vocal Scholarships.
The annual competition attracts Australia’s most outstanding young jazz musicians and over the past 23 years, it has served as a launching pad for some of the country’s greatest jazz artists.
Forming Part Two of the scholarship adjudication process this concert is sure to delight audiences as finalists display their great range of talents before guest adjudicators James Morrison, Wycliffe Gordon, Jazzmeia Horn, Gordon Goodwin and Ross Irwin. The Friday evening program will also include a guest appearance by Romanian jazz pianist Marian Petrescu, US Jazz sensation, Wycliffe Gordonand much more
