K-TOWN TAKEDOWN

One of the most devastating, blistering and sonically brutal shows for the Blue Mountains in 2020 will hit  in April, when death/grind/thrash masters King Parrot return to pulverise audiences.
Along for the ride will be local prog gods Red Bee, experimental experts Basils Kite and metal kings Be Faced for what is set to be one of the heaviest shows in Katoomba ever.

After supporting some of the worlds best metal acts like Obituary, Testament, Kvelertak and Carcass and drawing praise from the likes of Phil Anselmo and Chuck Billy, its easy to see why King Parrot are making a name for themselves. They’ve now solidified themselves at the top of the heap of extreme bands in Australia after scoring spot on the 2014 Soundwave line-up, winning The Age Newspaper – Best Heavy Album Award and The Cherry Bar/Jagermeister Act of the Year award in 2013. Their debut album has received rave reviews the world over, and with a sound and live performance they can uniquely call their own, King Parrot have set their sights on the jugular of the world and hopefully know one gets in their way.

An awe-inspiring and proud Australian band hailing from the Blue Mountains for just on 10 years, RED BEE is Daniel Silk (vocalist/guitarist), Jim Silk (bassist) and Ian Dunn (drummer.)

Early 2018 will see Red Bee reign supreme with their second album ‘SILENT ENEMY’: an unstoppable, adrenaline rushing, alt-hard rock masterwork. The first single will be ‘Dead Inside.’

RED BEE are tremendously excited to announce that ‘Silent Enemy’ will be released via Melbourne’s Dinner for Wolves (home of The Screaming Jets, Rifleman and Superheist) – their first release for the revered label.

This album is a must-hear that both astounds and thrills with its gigantic, expansive sound and epic amalgamation of crushing heaviness and explosive grooves. Addictive as all hell hooks and riffs, soaring, emotive melodies, atmospheric textures and intelligent song structures are all part of the ‘Silent Enemy’ package.

Underpinned by the evolution of Red Bee’s songwriting, technical musicianship and vocal performances, ‘Silent Enemy’ possesses a commanding, mind bending delivery that belies its complexity, and immense production by Chris Blancato (Bare Bones, Northlane, Arteries, DVSR).

Red Bee have achieved a revitalising landmark with ‘Silent Enemy’; an absolutely killer release that – once let loose – will induce uncontrollable rockin’ out, head-banging, and singing along everywhere.

Basil's Kite are an experimental punk/metal band comprised of 3 members spanning
from Wollongong to Katoomba. With 2013's Technicolour Fuckfest EP and 2015's
Celestial Shitshow EP behind them, they are approaching a debut album with their
new single, and live favourite, Baby. They describe it as: "a song for the breaking
point we all have, when adulting gets too hard. When the only exit out of this life is
the entry in".
Somewhat tongue in cheek, Basil's Kite has become a staple of the Australian
experimental rock scene, with significant DIY touring taking them extensively up and
down the east coast.
This year Basil’s Kite have begun work on their new album, due out mid of 2020.

Be Faced is a heavy metal band from the Blue Mountains Sydney. They've been together for a solid four years, having released their "official EP in 2016 entitled Ingot" and have an official music video for the single "Beating on Cold steel". Some of their influences are Pantera, Gojira, Metallica, Periphery and Machine Head. Their previous EP, Ingot, is known for its HEAVY METAL sound, Be Faced have recently been back in the studio recording their new single entitled Taxed To Death, and was released in 2016 along with a video. They are currently in the studio recording their debut album. They are exploring new sounds and genre's to create a new sound unique to their style. Be Faced have toured the East Coast of Aus multiple times and the boy's have recently returned from touring with The Maension throughout Canada and the USA.
