With immense pride, Katy Steele is thrilled to announce a very special and one-off show at Jack Rabbit Slim's on Friday December 18. It's no secret what Katy Steele means to Perth. Based on her work with darlings Little Birdy, the distinct voice, image and songwriting prowess Steele brought to the world has managed to sell out every hometown show - large and small - quicker than tickets can be put on sale. 

Showcasing brand new material from a forthcoming debut album, Katy Steele and her band will treat an audience to a show resembling what's to come as she sets out, carving her solo career for the first time. 2015 was spent laying plans - recording and gracing stages at the likes of Melbourne's State of the Art Festival and most recently at BIGSOUND, dazzling all in the process.

“Pop”, to some, has become a needlessly dirty word. It carries the overbearing implication of predictable instrumentation and bland, thoughtless lyrics; but Steele knows it doesn’t have to be this way. She dedicates herself to proving this, and after holing up in RADA Studios with the illustrious Matt Gio (Troye Sivan, San Cisco), she’s about to come out swinging. Bouncing, crystalline, and full to the brim with hooks, Steele’s music is anchored by her distinctively razor-sharp and seemingly boundary-free voice. It’s a return to pop that’s all about being catchy and danceable, all while maintaining musicality, sophistication and intellect. Put simply, Katy Steele is in the business of crafting tunes that will happily echo around the brain chamber for days on end. 

With the first of Katy Steele’s material set to be released soon, this is just the first step of what is destined to be an exciting and enduring solo career.
