Let’s talk about dying

At the first ECU Lecture Series event for 2022, Professor Davina Porock, will draw on more than 25 years’ research to discuss the important aspect of death that is dying – the relatively short period of time before you die.

People are encouraged to ‘take care of business’ and ‘sort out their affairs’ to prepare for the end of life; a process which most people understand to mean arranging a will, deciding on what sort of funeral, and what to do with our remains.
These activities do not cover the scary, unknown process of transitioning between being alive and being dead. Professor Porock will illustrate why it’s important to prepare for dying, and why talking about dying enables us to really live until we die.
