An exciting opportunity to hear from Jack Cowin, founder and Executive Chairman of Competitive Foods Australia Pty Ltd (CFAL).
CFAL has grown from one of Australia’s first KFC stores in Western Australia to a diversified food retailing, manufacturing and exporting company with AU$1.5b in revenue which employs more than 16,000 staff throughout Australia and New Zealand.
In addition to operating 400 Hungry Jack’s restaurants in Australia CFAL is one of the largest value-added beef processors that exports to 26 countries and has won several Australian Export Awards. In addition CFAL is one of the largest seafood importers in Australia and New Zealand and is the major shareholder in PMF, which processes fresh vegetables in four plants across Australia for supply to supermarkets and food service operators.
An accomplished entrepreneur, in addition to Jack’s role at Competitive Foods, he is a director of BridgeClimb, Fairfax Media and is Chairman and the largest shareholder of Domino’s Pizza Enterprises an ASX listed company. Jack also has business interests in Canada including the Lone Star Texas Grill family restaurant business and Sir Corp concept restaurants, he is also the major shareholder in Skyway a company which supplies scaffolding related products to the Canadian construction and industrial market.
Jack is Chancellor of Western University, London, Ontario Canada, a Trustee of Bond University in Queensland and a Patron of the Australian Canadian Chamber of Commerce.
