Are you looking to reduce waste in your kitchen while still maintaining convenience and efficiency? Join us for a fun, informative, and practical workshop on creating a Low-Waste Kitchen with the legendary Peg from Lessen with Peg!
Date & Time:
Thursday 6th March at 6pm
Location:
Harvest Lake Community Centre
What to Expect:
· Interactive & Collaborative Format: We’ll kick off the session with a fun, hands-on approach – you’ll also get to contribute your tips and tricks! (Bring your celery tip, or any other kitchen wisdom!)
· Food Prep & Energy Efficiency: From stove vs microwave to minimizing energy and food waste, we’ll share some simple yet impactful changes you can make at home.
· Shopping Smarter: Discover how to shop in ways that minimize waste
· Storing & Using Food: Learn how to better store fresh food, utilize leftovers creatively, and avoid tossing out edible bits you’d typically throw away
· Regrowing & Using Scraps: What about those beetroot tops, celery stalks, or spring onions? We’ll show you how to regrow them and how to get creative with “manky” food bits you might otherwise toss out.
· Waste Disposal Tips: We’ll discuss smart ways to handle food scraps, including the use of Bokashi buckets, worm farms, and composting.
This workshop is all about convenience and habit-forming, perfect for those of us with busy lives but who want to make sustainable changes in the kitchen. And most importantly, it’s fun, doable, and designed to give you fresh ideas that you can easily incorporate into your everyday routine.
We look forward to seeing you there.
