Are you interested in reducing your waste footprint and connecting more with community?
Beginning with an empowering workshop with local low-waste expert Lindsay Miles, you will learn how to take simple, low-cost actions to reduce your waste footprint. Lindsay gently encourages participants to think about their current habits, and introduces ideas to make small changes with big impacts. We'll talk about budget savvy options to avoid single-use packaging, shopping alternatives and reusable options, in addition to the sharing economy and community initiatives in reducing our waste.
We then make our way to the local low-waste bulk food store, Weigh 'n Pay, where Shanae Campbell, an employee at Weigh 'n Pay will discuss the power of community, conscious consumerism and how we can support sustainability whilst feeling more connected. This part of the workshop will also give workshop attendees practical insight into how to shop low-waste.
Whether you have just started your low waste journey, have never heard of low-waste living before, or have been engaging with low-waste living for some time this event is for you. You will leave feeling empowered to take simple steps to reduce waste within your life, save money, and connect more with community. All participants will receive a $5.00 coucher to spend at Weigh 'n Pay to kick start or continue their low-waste journey.
Please note that this workshop will involve walking approx. 450m from Woodvale Library to Weigh 'n Pay.
