Supporting patients, supporting client’s needs whilst promoting clinical expertise

This comprehensive one day program is designed for health care professionals directly involved with the care of the patient requiring Intra-aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) therapy.
A combination of theory and interactive group sessions will enable the participant to apply theoretical knowledge to clinical practice in a safe environment.
On completion the participants will have a greater understanding of the physiological effects achieved by IABP therapy, be able to identify relevant indications and contraindications for using counter pulsation and apply the concepts of IAB insertion, device set-up, operation and troubleshooting.

This Workshop is endorsed by ACN according to our Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Endorsed Course Standards. It has been allocated 7 CPD hours according to the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia – Continuing Professional Development Standard.
