Meet the Author - Carrie Cox

A tender novel about ingrained beauty standards and vulnerability, Storylines, by seasoned author and journalist Carrie Cox, explores what happens when we move past the fear of judgement and rejection and look deep within ourselves to rediscover our beauty – both inside and out.

Storylines takes Carrie’s personal experience of living with physical scars, which she feels compelled to cover daily, and amplifies it to question the long-held beauty expectations that often dictate our society and relationships. Through Carrie’s expert prose, we come to understand that what we see as aesthetically pleasing has been very much affected by the rise of social media and unrealistic beauty standards.

About the Author

Carrie Cox is a journalist and author based in Perth, Western Australia. She has published a non-fiction book, You Take the High Road and I’ll Take the Bus, based on her weekly satirical column for multiple Australian newspapers, and two previous novels – Afternoons with Harvey Beam and So Many Beats of the Heart.
