Moment to Moment

Presented by Tasmania Performs as part of Mature Moves

MADE, Hobart-based vibrant dance-theatre company now into its twelfth year, proudly shares moments of:

Glen Murray’s  original choreography as MADE's inaugural Artistic Director, ABANDONED DANCES, choreographed by Kelly Drummond Cawthon and, THE STANCE, choreographed by Liesel Zink.

EPISODES Series II provides a taste of ten years of choreography created by Glen Murray, MADE's inaugural artistic director. EPISODES Series I toured six Tasmanian towns with Ten Days on the Island in 2015. Glen's choreography is inspired by the narrative and takes both performer and audience on imaginative journeys with startling moments of humour and pathos.

ABANDONED DANCES Series I and II are original works by Kelly Drummond Cawthon developed in collaboration with the MADE ensemble. Both quirky and wondrous. Series I premiered at the Launceston Tram Museum as part of the 2015 Junction Arts Festival and Series II, at the Tasmanian Transport Museum in Glenorchy.  Kelly has an amazing ability to create and adapt work to capitalise on the strength of each performer and the opportunities provided by surprisingly challenging settings.

THE STANCE is a work by Liesel Zink, a Brisbane-based choreographer, who works in collaboration with sound engineer Mike Willmett.  Liesel's choreography takes dance into shared public space where members of the public are welcome to engage through their eyes and ears.  THE STANCE explores the movement of the body in acts of protest. This is quite relevant for Tasmanian audiences given the lengthy and colourful history of citizen protest in this State.  THE STANCE was performed very recently at the 2016 Junction Arts Festival.
