Morning Birdwalk at Neil Hawkins Park
- Reserve
- Details
Djilba is the sixth Noongar season and a time when the first fauna newborns appear, including woodland birds such as the djer-djer (splendid fairywren), koolbardi (magpie), djidi djidi (willie wagtails) and chuck-a-luck (wattlebirds). To celebrate this transitional time of year, join Brendan Kinsella from BirdLife WA on a guided walk around Neil Hawkins Park, one of the City’s hotspots for bird watching.
Learn to spot different bird species while Brendan provides information on protected birds, conserving the local ecosystem and how community members can get involved in protecting wildlife. Then finish up at the gazebo for a quick Q and A, where refreshments will be provided.
Please wear enclosed shoes, suitable clothing, a hat and BYO water bottle. Pets not permitted.
This event is a part of the City’s Biodiversity Month celebrations, where we celebrate our amazing ecosystem in all its diversity – its biodiversity.
