Event Description
Ne Obliviscaris

Melbourne, Australia’s NE OBLIVISCARIS stand apart from their peers, infusing metal with avant-garde approaches to jazz, flamenco, prog & more. With adventurous, progressive, and nuanced compositions NE OBLIVISCARIS is a band with profound depth and a musical proficiency at the highest level.

With their first demo 'The Aurora Veil' in 2007, NE OBLIVISCARIS garnered significant word-of-mouth within the metal underground. In 2012, their self produced debut album, 'Portal of I' showcased their unique array of influences and dynamic songwriting, and sent shock waves through the metal underground once again. Met with even more praise, 'Portal of I' made several "Best of 2012" lists (Metal Hammer Germany (January issue), No Clean Singing, Metal Injection & many more) and saw the band eventually sign with one of worlds leading independent metal labels Season of Mist.

The band then spent much of 2013 writing a new album in amongst touring with the likes of Devin Townsend, Enslaved, Between The Buried & Me, The Contortionist, Cradle of Filth & more. They embarked on a highly successful 3 week headline tour throughout Asia that includeda sold out show in Tokyo, Japan and even achieved something unheard for a metal band andhad their song ‘And Plague Flowers The Kaleidoscope’ added to the teaching curriculum at Sydney Conservatorium of Music, one of Australia's most prestigious classical conservatories. Composition students were asked to study the songs structure and the bands approach to mixing timbres, meters, modes, how to approach virtuosity, sound and noise, extended performance and techniques.

Finally completed and ready for release, Ne Obliviscaris’ new album 'CITADEL’ will be released in worldwide on November 7 (Nov 11 in North America).

Produced by Troy McCosker and violinist/clean vocalist Tim Charles at Pony Music in Melbourne, Australia and mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren (Devin Townsend, Opeth,Katatonia). Featuring stunning artwork by vocalist Xen, Citadel sees the band expand even further on a sound already renowned for being eclectic and unique amongst the worldwide metal scene.

It’s been just over two years since the band released their critically acclaimed debut album ‘Portal Of I’ and during that time they have risen to become one of Australia’s biggest metal exports and a band many are tipping to be one of the next big things in the worldwide metal scene.

With their sights firmly on taking their music to every corner of the globe imaginable, the band are currently in the midst of booking a huge crowd funded world tour in addition to their already announced headline tour of Australia in November and coveted slot on SOUNDWAVE FESTIVAL in Feb 2015 (playing alongside Slipknot, Soundgarden, Faith No More & many more).

The band hit their $40,000AUD ($37,500USD) crowd funding target in only 38 hours and broke the Australian record ($60,736AUD) for music related crowd funding in only 10 days going on to raise a massive $86,132AUD (well over 200% of their original target) towards their world tour that is set to include Europe, UK, North America, India, Japan, China, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South East Asia, Australia & more.
