Our House makes it’s first venture to Hobart as we present Purple Disco Machine on Sunday April 17th.
International DJ, producer and remixer Tino Piontek aka Purple Disco Machine has been on a whirlwind of a musical journey since the conception of his Deep Funk branded House music project in 2009. The Dresden-‐born Deep Funk innovator has racked up numerous achievements, although it was his 2013 breakthrough hit ‘My House’, on OFF Recordings, that really propelled PDM onto new heights; landing the No.1 Spot within Beatport’s Deep House chart and, at its peak, No.3 overall. The success of ‘My House’ didn’t just stop there as one whole year later the track was still in Beatport’s Deep House Top 100 chart and consequently acquired the prestigious accolade of becoming one of the online retailer’s best selling tracks EVER. With stats like this, it’s no wonder why the A&R reps from, record industry giant, Sony have been knocking on Tino’s door and are now looking to storm the charts with their re-‐release version, ‘Devil In Me / My House’ Ft. Duane Harden, this winter / early 2015. Proving he’s no one-‐hit-‐wonder, the German native recreated his previous chart domination with his 2014 summer anthem ‘The Path’. A track that was released by Coyu’s revered Spanish imprint Suara and saw him collaborate, for the third time, with fellow countryman Teenage Mutants to go straight in at No.1 on Beatport’s Deep House chart, stay within their overall Top 10 for months and become one of 2014’s biggest and most Shazamed tracks. Again, Sony liked what they heard and came calling. However, it’s important to mention that Purple Disco Machine’s impressive Deep Funk grooves might not have even existed if it wasn’t for his father introducing him, at an early age, to the classic funk sounds of the 70s and 80s. This early exposure had real inoluence on Tino and by the time he was a teenager, he didn’t just want to listen to great music but also play it, produce it and be connected to the scene.
