Event Description

World Class Curling Comes to Australia!! One of the most mesmerising sports for spectators. You will want to come back for more to support your favourite team.

The sport of Curling has existed for over 400 years but was only included in the Winter Olympics in 1988. It is now one of the most popular winter sports for participants and spectators.

The Pacific-Asia Curling Championships are a major annual international event and the regional qualifier to the World Championships in 2018. The 2017 competition will consist of 17 teams competing across the men’s and women’s championships. These include teams from China, Japan, South Korea, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei, Australia, and New Zealand.

The structure of the event for both the men and women is a round-robin competition with bronze and gold medal finals. The 2017 Pacific-Asia Curling Championships will be broadcasted live on China Central Television; MBC TV in Korea, WCTV, NTV in Japan and on World Curling TV. Many other media organisations cover this event.

The Olympic sized ice arena at Erina will be converted into a Curling Rink just for these championships. Spectators will have reserved seating will full view off all the action of up to 4 games being played at once. Food and drinks are available in the ice arena. Free Parking is available in the Erina Fair Shopping Centre.
