The 2017-18 State Budget will be handed down by the Treasurer on Thursday September 7 2017.

Join CCI's Chief Economist, Rick Newnham and Chairman of GRA Everingham and former State Treasurer and Leader of the WA Labor Party, Eric Ripper for a robust discussion and analysis of the government’s first budget.

Detailing the economic and fiscal outlook for Western Australia, the Budget outlines the Government's direction for the financial year as well as the next three years and provides a blueprint for the plans that underpin their policy priorities, which in 2017 includes diversifying the economy, creating a more efficient public sector and maximising employment opportunities for Western Australians.

Rick Newnham will detail the economic impact of the Budget, highlighting the key elements and what it will mean for WA's business community and economy; while Eric Ripper will provide a political analysis, using his unique insight as a former Labor Treasurer.
