Introduction to the Workers Compensation and Injury Management Bill 2023

The Workers Compensation and Injury Management Bill 2023 was tabled in Parliament on 22 February 2023, with the aim to modernise Western Australia’s workers compensation laws.  

The Bill modernises the Act in a way which provides clarity and certainty for stakeholders within the workers compensation system. The Bill preserves the fundamental aspects of the scheme and implements some important improvements. It is also the culmination of extensive consultation by WorkCover WA with key stakeholder groups and the Western Australian public.
