Event Description
Polyphagous shot-hole borer session - FULLY BOOKED

Polyphagous shot-hole borer (PSHB) information night

Polyphagous shot-hole borer (PSHB) is a tiny, wood-boring beetle native to Southeast Asia that has become a very large concern in WA. It excavates tunnels known as galleries in the trunks and branches of trees. This invasive activity threatens many species of flora, particularly trees, and current efforts to eradicate the beetle have seen significant urban canopy coverage loss across Perth.

All City of Joondalup suburbs are now within Zone B of the quarantine area, extended in September 2024 to cover the entire Perth Metropolitan area to help stop the spread of PSHB into the regions.

Come along to this information night to hear from guest speaker Katelyn Fox, Public Information Officer from the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD).

Learn more about PSHB, how to identify this pest and report suspected damage.

This event is open to all members of the community.

Free to attend, however registration is essential.

For further information on this event please call the City on 9400 4751.

Please note, the presentation will run for approximately 45 minutes, followed by Q&A and light refreshments.
