Radio Gothic presents Episode 1 - The Pit

A young woman sent to solitary confinement finds that the darkness is far from lonely.

Presented by Radio Gothic, HyPe and Salamanca Arts Centre in association with Dark Mofo. 

Radio Gothic presents a series of creepy tales written by Tasmanian playwrights in collaboration with performers and sound artists. An experimental mix of radio play and theatre with live foley, each self-contained episode will eventually be presented as a podcast.

Episode 1 – The Pit is written by Briony Kidd, with live sound design by Heath Brown, and features performers Katie Roberston, Carrie McLean, Karissa Lane and Craig Irons. The show is approximately 40 minutes in duration.

Radio Gothic is Heath Brown, Briony Kidd Carrie McLean and Alison Mann, who combine their varied skills across theatre and filmmaking to create unique theatrical experiences. 

This work was developed through HyPe and the RAWspace program which was supported by the Theatre Royal, Tasmania Performs and Ten Days on the Island. A shorter version of it was presented at the Theatre Royal Backspace in 2015.
